Enhanced ABDX® Control Valve - Delivering More Benefits than Ever Before
Wabtec’s continuous improvement efforts have resulted in the enhanced ABDX®, delivering more benefits than ever before. The new design incorporates redesigned main piston diaphragms, upgraded emergency portion slide valves, and service portion graduating valve material. Metal alloy provides enhanced resistance to fretting wear when exposed to severe vibration. These changes improve cold weather performance, offer greater resistance to severe vibration, and provide longer service life.
- Incorporates an optimal mix of slide and poppet valve technology
- 20% fewer internal components than the competition
- Unlike rubber seals, metal-to-metal seal not adversely affected by low temperature or degradation
- Built-in accommodation available for precise, automatic on-car testing utilizing 4-port testing system
- ABDX: for cars with 45 – 75 feet of brake pipe
- ABDX-L: for cars with >75 feet of brake pipe
- ABDX-SS for cars with <45 feet of brake pipe (for captive service, not for interchange in North America)
