Layshaft Seal with Oil Deflector Sleeve
Designed to remain "leak free" from overhaul to overhaul
The existing layshaft seal design is a cork gasket that seals for a limited time before it becomes saturated with oil and begins to leak. Replacing this gasket takes time because the injector control bracket assembly must be removed first.
Wabtec's Layshaft Seal with Oil Deflector Sleeve (#DE11811) is a rubber seal with beads that is impervious to oil. The sleeve acts as a deflector that prevents oil from leaking out of the application. The combined rubber seal and oil deflecting sleeve is designed to remain “leak free” from overhaul to overhaul.
