Politecnico di Torino and Wabtec Corp. Announce a Strategic Partnership to Promote Research, Innovation, and Training in Rail Transportation

Politecnico di Torino (Polytechnic University) and Wabtec Corporation signed an agreement to develop a strategic collaboration to define and implement shared research, innovation, and education projects. This synergistic partnership represents an important step forward in promoting academic excellence and technological innovation in rail transportation.

Accredited as one of the best technical universities in Europe, Politecnico di Torino trains professionals in the fields of Engineering, Architecture, Design, and Spatial Planning. Wabtec Corporation has been a leading global supplier of technologies, equipment, systems, digital solutions, and value-added services to the freight and passenger rail industries and the mining, marine, and industrial markets for more than 150 years. Under this three-year agreement, the university and company will join forces to advance innovation, digital transformation, and the creation of cutting-edge solutions. The collaboration will include participation in international and European projects, as well as advanced training and education by providing students with unique opportunities for hands-on learning and technical skills acquisition. Additionally, the partnership will provide students access to intern internship programs, workshops, seminars, and other training initiatives which will enrich their professional and personal development.

This partnership will enable the identification and implementation of shared research projects, in which faculty, researchers, and professionals will work closely together to address complex challenges and develop innovative solutions. Combining academic expertise and industrial knowledge is expected to generate significant discoveries and maximize the real-world impact of research, with a special focus on creating solutions for increasingly sustainable mobility.
